Nurturing Knowledge, Faith, and Character

Madrasah Imam Bukhari, based in Leicester, is committed to providing a comprehensive Islamic education that equips students with the knowledge and values needed to lead their lives as practicing Muslims. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, structured, and rooted in Islamic teachings, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in both religious and moral principles.

Curriculum Structure

Our curriculum is divided into three key sections:

Nursery (Early Learning)

Focus on Arabic alphabet recognition and pronunciation.
Introduction to basic Islamic concepts in a fun and interactive manner.
Encouraging familiarity with the Madrasah environment through engaging activities.

Primary Education

Development of Qur’an recitation skills with Tajweed.
Introduction to core Islamic subjects:
- Fiqh (Jurisprudence) – Understanding daily Islamic practices.
- Seerah (Prophetic History) – Learning about the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
- Aqaaid (Beliefs) – Strengthening faith and understanding Islamic principles.
Interactive learning methods, including wall displays and discussions.

Secondary Education

Advanced Qur’an recitation and Tajweed rules.
In-depth study of Islamic subjects, including:
- Hadith studies – Learning from the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
- Islamic history – Understanding the development of Islamic civilization.
- Practical application of Islamic teachings in daily life.
Encouraging students to develop independent thinking and spiritual growth.

Hifz Program

For students who wish to memorize the Qur’an, we offer a dedicated Hifz program that provides structured guidance, ensuring students progress effectively while maintaining their academic balance.

Nursey	Wuḍūʾ: Students must be able to perform complete Wuḍūʾ. Teachers may use practical/verbal lessons. – Toilet Etiquette: Students should learn: 1. Entering with the left foot 2. Proper ways to relieve oneself (sitting, washing, etc.) 3. Leaving with the right foot. – Ṣalāh: Understanding the five daily prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, ‘Aṣr, Maghrib, and ‘Ishāʾ.	Story-based Learning: Selection of 8 key stories throughout the year, complemented by planned activities and displays at three points during the academic year.		– Tawḥīd: Understanding the Oneness of Allah—He has no partner, no children, and is the provider of everything. – Prophethood: Belief in Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the final messenger sent to all of mankind. I will miss the Madrasah so much! I started when I was 5 years old in nursery class and now have finished in Class 8.
